Happy Mother’s Day: Meet My 2 New Cats – Destiny and Rogue

Last month, I went to the Animal Rescue League’s Adoption Center and took these two females home. They are Tab and Calico mixtures who care called Torties. Destiny is a Tortie-Diluted because she is mostly gray and doesn’t look very Calico. I named her after a character on my favorite soap One Life to Live. Rogue was named after one of the female X-Men. She is full Tortie. They are both at least a year old and were found wandering around East Boston.

RIP, Al Freeman Jr of One Life to Live

Sad news to report. Sorry to be late in telling this, but I thought I had to mention it on this blog since I am a big fan of One Life to Live. Actor Al Freeman Jr. who played Captain Ed Hall passed away on August 9 at the age of 78. He was the first African American Actor to win a Lead Actor Daytime Emmy in 1979. He was on One Life to Live from 1972-1987. He briefly came back to the show in later years in cameo appearances.

He was in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X movie in 1990. In later years, he was a drama professor at Howard University in Washington, DC. He’ll be missed.

Happy Birthday to My Favorite Soap!

Yes, even though it was cancelled, I’m still giving it a birthday greeting on my blog.

Happy 44th Birthday,

One Life to Live!

(July 15, 1968 – January 13, 2012)

Life without my soap hasn’t been easy, but a few of the OLTL characters are showing up on General Hospital.  This week, Kassie DePavia returns to GH once again to play Blair Cramer, Starr Manning’s mother and Todd Manning’s ex-wife.

Flashy Birthday for Former OLTL Star!

Happy Birthday

John Wesley Shipp

The actor formerly known as the Flash aka Barry Allen and Eddie Ford of the soap One Life to Live is celebrating his day.  Many Happy Returns, John.  He’s been on many shows both on daytime and prime time like Santa Barbara and Dawson’s Creek, for example.  Very talent guy!

One Life to Live Finale: Excellent!!!

Although I am very sad that One Life to Live, my favorite soap, aired its finale episode last Friday, I really enjoyed watching it.  John McBain finally arrested Todd Manning of the murder of Todd’s twin brother, Victor Lord Jr., while Todd was in bed with Blair, his ex-wife.  The next scene showed Allison Perkins, the resident nut job, holding Victor Lord Jr. a captive in her bed.  Also, Clint proposed to Viki.  At last!!!

If only John McBain double-checked to see if Victor Lord Jr. was really dead before he arrested Todd.  Fortunately, the former executive producer and the head writer of One Life to Live are taking over the creative control of ABC’s last soap, General Hospital.  John McBain, Todd Manning, Blair Cramer, and Starr Manning (Todd and Blair’s daughter) are heading to GH starting next month.

Expect some improvements to GH in the near future!

1 Week Into New Year & Still No Resolutions From Me

I used to do the New Year’s Resolutions thing in previous years.  Sometimes, I would post them here on the blog.  I’m still working on the other resolutions I’ve made in the past.

This past week, I’ve been thinking and working on my career as an artist.  I met with other artists at the Watertown headquarters of the Asperger Association of New England Thursday night to talk about an open house in the springtime.  I’m already having a tough time trying decide which of my artwork should I display there.  Tough decisions!  I love everything I’ve done, but will the public like it too?

Also, I am pushing onward with my career as a writer.  The book, Seven at the Sevens by Writers Anonymous, is available on Amazon.com.  I want to work on my other writings and get them self-published.

This coming Friday, my favorite soap opera, One Life to Live, will be broadcasting its final episode.  I’m very sad that this show is ending.  Shame on you, ABC Daytime, for getting rid of this excellent show.

Real Todd Manning’s Birthday!

Happy 43rd Birthday

Roger Howarth

The real Todd Manning of One Life to Live is celebrating his day! Many Happy Returns, Roger! Welcome Back to OLTL! It was revealed recently that the real Todd Manning was kidnapped by his own mother, Irene Manning, and replaced by his twin brother (actor Trevor St. John) who had plastic surgery to look like Walker Laurence, the younger brother of evil Mitch Laurence. I know it sounds confusing, but it’s a soap! After 8 long years, Todd escaped imprisonment and returned to Llanview.

40th Birthday To Live!

Happy 40th Birthday

Trevor St. John

The former One Live to Live actor celebrating his 40th Birthday today. Many Happy Returns, Trevor! He played the second Todd Manning who was recently revealed to be Victor Lord Jr., Todd’s twin brother, a couple weeks ago on the show. This week, Trevor’s character was killed off starting a Who Done It storyline.

Trevor decided to leave the show when the original actor who played Todd, Roger Howarth, recently returned. Good Luck in your future, Trevor! Thanks for the last fun 8 years at One Live to Live!

Erika Slezak

The actress who plays Viki on the soap, One Life to Live, has reached a milestone today! Many Happy Returns, Erika! She is the daughter of actor Walter Slezak. Back in March, Erika celebrated her 40 years of being on One Life to Live. So, it’s two milestones for her this year.

Happy 43rd Birthday,

One Life to Live!

My favorite soap is celebrating its 43rd birthday this month.  It all started on July 15 1968 on ABC.  Although it is leaving ABC in January 2012, it will continue as a web series.  What a great new life for OLTL!
