Rest in peace, Ray Manzarek of The Doors :-(

Very sad news today! 😦

Co-founder and keyboardist for the Doors Ray Manzarek has died of cancer. He was 74 years old. He was surrounded by his wife and brothers when he passed away.

This is devastating news for me because I had met Ray a few times in the past when he visited the New England area. The first time I met him was back in October 1993 in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Ray and his best friend, Jim Morrison, founded the Doors in 1966 and went on to sell many hit records. Morrison, the lead singer, passed away in July 1971.

Happy Mother’s Day: Meet My 2 New Cats – Destiny and Rogue

Last month, I went to the Animal Rescue League’s Adoption Center and took these two females home. They are Tab and Calico mixtures who care called Torties. Destiny is a Tortie-Diluted because she is mostly gray and doesn’t look very Calico. I named her after a character on my favorite soap One Life to Live. Rogue was named after one of the female X-Men. She is full Tortie. They are both at least a year old and were found wandering around East Boston.

Here is a picture of Bongo and Storm, my two cats who passed away recently. Storm died on 12/29/12 and Bongo died on 02/23/13.

Get Ready to Steampunk it This Weekend in Waltham!

The fourth annual Watch City Festival is this weekend in Waltham, Massachusetts. It will start on Friday, May 10, and end Sunday, May 12 (Mother’s Day). 20,000 are expected to appear this year. It is considered to be the annual Steampunk Festival.

Clint Eastwood Wants to Direct Until He’s 105!

My favorite actor Clint Eastwood says that he’d love to direct when he’s 105! He’s at 82 years old right now! He admires 104-year-old Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira when he made that remark.

Good Luck, Clint! I would love to see more movies directed by him!
